Q: Who is eligible to become a member of MHCU?

You may be eligible for Members Heritage Credit Union membership if you live, work, worship, attend school, or have family in Kentucky’s Bluegrass or Gateway districts. Q: Are there any fees associated with membership?

The only required membership cost is an initial deposit of as little as $5 to open a share savings account. Once opened, that account establishes your MHCU membership. There are no annual membership fees or maintenance charges required to remain a member.

Q: What makes credit unions different from banks?

Credit unions are different from banks because they are member-owned, not shareholder-owned. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, MHCU returns value to members through benefits such as lower loan rates, higher savings dividends, fewer fees, and personal service.

Golden VIP (Ages 50+)

Members aged 50 and older who are in good standing may qualify for Golden VIP, a special package of Members Heritage benefits that can lower common banking costs. VIP members receive:

free statement copies per month
free stop payment fees per month

To qualify, maintain an active account with direct deposit. Qualifying direct deposits include paychecks, Social Security payments, or pension payments.

Scholarship Program

Members Heritage invests in young members through an annual Scholarship Program for students continuing their education after high school.

Five students will each receive a $2,500 scholarship.
Scholarships may be used toward higher education expenses.
Applications are available online or at any Members Heritage branch.
Applications must be submitted between January 1 and March 31.
